The Security Research Centre’s aims:

  • To provide a focus for the study and research of security related topics within ECU
  • To focus the primary security research efforts within the digital/information and physical security areas as well as in other related disciplines such as biological, chemical, radiological and nuclear security, psychological impacts relevant to security and emergency management.

The Security Research Centre’s initial research themes are:

  • Surveillance and Intelligence
  • Digital security and forensics
  • Information Operations especially information security and deception
  • Airport Security
  • Emergency Management
  • Radiological and nuclear security and policy
  • Biosecurity and chemical security and their associated potential for terrorist attacks
